DBMA Executive Director Leaves for New Job 10/9/2007
The Downtown Branson Main Street Association is looking for a new executive director. Gayla Roton , who held the position for almost a decade has left for a new job. She is now working with the Missouri Department of Economic Development. Roton will still reside in Branson, according to sources. Now, this resignation took place nearly three weeks ago. An e-mail on the matter was finally sent to Hometown Radio News Monday evening. The Missouri Main Street Connection , which operates under the state department of economic development has hired as coordinator to manage its state-wide program. MMSC provides services that help Missouri communities rejuvenate economic growth in their historic commercial districts, using the Main Street approach to revitalization.
With Roten as the new state coordinator, the Main Street Program can now strengthen it efforts and move forward, says MMSC Vice-President Diane Hannah, of Clinton. "The MMSC Board interviewed several candidates from several different states and concluded that Gayla has the energy, the drive, and the ability to do an exceptional job. We couldn't be more pleased than to have Gayla on board as the new state coordinator for Missouri Main Street." Along with efforts by Governor Matt Blunt and the Department of Economic Development to spur economic growth throughout the State, Sen. John Griesheimer, Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, has endorsed MMSC's efforts from the beginning. "Gayla has done a tremendous job in Downtown Branson. With her help Downtown Branson has continued to be truly amazing! It is exciting that her drive and enthusiasm will be transferred to this state organization," Griesheimer said.

Interesting staff selection by the MMSC considering the current state of the DBMA.
